A fine and rare vintage Cartier 18K gold plated rectangular curved Tank Allongée wristwatch. Mechanical movement caliber 2412. 17 Jewels.Reference # 21612.White dial with black Roman numerals with inner railway minute divisions. Plastic crystal. 50 x 20mm dimensions. Featured on a non-original brown leather strap with tang clasp. Circa 1960’s.Rare with less than 1,000 pieces produced.This rare watch was produced for the American market by the New York Maison in the mid -late 60's.
This watch is famously worn by Steve McQueen in his 1968 movie-The Thomas Crown Affair.
